Internet Radio

Hey folks, anyone knows of a free internet radio utility for windows10?

I have for years now the phonostar-player and it works but when recording it makes the songs in .wav format which are huge. On my other Vista PC it makes the files in mp3

I also have on my VistaPC the raimaradio but can get it to work in windows10

Making a recording would likely be a violation of DRM.

Never thought about it Tolyn, even for private use?

I mean these are private stations with lots of commercials during songs play time so the stations get their money from the commercials

Correct. Since you did not buy the music then you have no rights to own it.

The sites with commercials pay for the music through advertising or subscriptions.

This happens to be an area that I do know a little about.

Its true that its illegal for you to record that music because you do not own the licence for those songs.

The radio station has to pay ASCAP fees which pays the artists for their song/music.

When you take the music without paying for it, the artist (& or song writer) doesnt get paid for his work (record etc). This is called piracy. Its stealing music. Its illegal.

I cannot answer any of the legal aspects of this but .wav is CD quality, I would want that as my master copy and then copy to something more compact when needed.

I've used Audacity to record & I use Winamp for playback. I listen to a variety for college stations. Everything is free.
