Best way to toggle between PC speakers and headphones

I'm trying to determine the simplest way to toggle between my main PC speakers and a USB headset. The only way I have found is to go to the control panel, click on sound, click on the current audio device (only the active device is listed in the playback tab), click on properties, then click "disable this device". Then I click on the speaker icon in my menu bar, which brings up a troubleshooting window that eventually displays a list of available audio devices. I can then select the headphones. This seems like an awfully convoluted way to switch between audio devices. Surely there is a better, quicker way. I am using Windows 7 64-bit.

Figured it out. Had to right-click inside the window and click "show disabled devices". Now everything is displayed and I can right click to enable/disable. Why anyone would want to hide the available audio devices is beyond me. Surely not as the default setting
