Driveway sealer?

Hi, I sealed my driveway in the past, most recently last fall. This is how it looks now. Will another coat this spring fill in these cracks or are they too deep/wide?

Are those cracks in the asphalt or the sealer? If the latter it means the sealer was either applied too thick or when the driveway was too hot. Sealers don't typically fill cracks or depressions.

If it's sealer cracks get a sealer that is sand filled. As stated do not do it in the heat of the day. Wait until dusk and using a paint brush paint about an 8" perimeter around the drive. Next morning at sunrise but before the sun rises fully spread the sealer and by noon it should be dry enough to walk on. Wait at least a day to drive on it.

That looks pretty normal, you always have some texture from the base asphalt. Best advice, use a good sealer, the cheap stuff isnt much more that stain, the better grades have fillers and sealers and hold up better.

Best application is with a squeegee, it help fill in the low spots. Personally I.ve had 3 homes with asphalt drives and would seal them during the day and never had any issues, again the material is the key!

thanks all. its not cracks in the sealer but the asphalt. I was hoping it would fill in like asphalt itself but to your point its just meant to seal not fill cracks and gaps. was hoping to get a fine, smooth driveway finish.

You don't want the driveway too fine/smooth - it would be slippery when wet
Time to go on to your next diy project
