HIdden fasteners for composite decking

I had an interesting experience with a deck we resurfaced. The customer chose Veranda with the hidden fasteners. All material delivered to site. Nice. We were about 1/3 of the way through using their fastener system, fighting every step of the way trying to get a 12' wet noodle lifted at a 45 degree angle to engage the fastener when another contractor/friend stopped by to see how it was going. He tossed me a Trex fastener and said "that would speed you up by 200%". What difference it would make if I had them.

Has anyone else an opinion on either of the fasteners??

Haven't used those but I have used the kreg deck jig and ultradeck hidden fasteners... they are kind of like the trex ones. Basically like a #20 biscuit that you put a screw in the center of.

Yeah, the Trex fastener maintains the 1/4" of space, but allows you to lay the decking flat and just slide it over the protrusion. Easy peasy. Thanks Veranda for a good lesson.
