When they built the deck years ago they put the 2X6 right next to the T111 siding. As you can see in the pictures the siding has rotten over the years. I would like to trim about 3/4 in off the end of the 2X6 that is right up next to the T111 siding. What tool would cut just that little amount and go deep enough to cut the 2X6. I would like to just cut enough of the siding ,say 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 off the bottom and replace with with a 2 1/2 X3/4 or 3 1/2 X 3/4 of wood trim and paint it brown like most of the other trim. I need to cut 1/2 to 3/4 off the 2X6 decking so I can take out the bad siding and replace with the wood trim. [B]Has anyone any ideas on anything new- in coating older decks?, This one is solid but has to be coated every few years. I don't mind the work so much. BUT!If you have any good news in redoing a deck, besides power washing and then pouring stain out and spreading it around.[/B]Can't you tell? I'm getting sick of this deck repair -renewal.
