Deck rail posts on outside corner.

I think I know the answer to this but wanted to check. MY 4x4 deck rails posts are mounted on the exterior edge of rim joists. Straight rectangular deck. My thinking is to mount the two corner posts so that the distance between the posts on the corner is < 4in per ballister specification. Is that sufficient for the space between the posts? Is there a better way to finish the corner? I am using deck rail hangers to install the 2x4 rails that the balllusters will be attached to. That doesn't work for the space between the corner posts.
