Attaching deck railings and top- What screws? other questions

For my deck, I am using Deckorator aluminum round balusters with 2x4 rails and 2x4 cap. I am planning on attaching the two 2x4 railsbetweem cedar post with screws angled in rather than the plastic mounting brackets. What type and size of screw to use is my first question. I was thinking of using 3" trim screws angled in but the only ones I found at big box stores for outdoors is trim screws for attaching composite decking. Will these work and are they going to provide enough strength to keep rails attached to the post. (The rail length between post is no more than 53" on main deck but may be up to 6 1/2 ft or so on stair railing.). If this type of trim screw is not a good choice - I guess regular 3 " deck screws would be my 2nd choice. Suggestions would be appreciated. (2) Also, I am asking recommendation on screws to attach top cap to top rail . What screws size and type and distance recommendation between screws?
