plywood over existing deck
Hello. I am unsure if this is a huge no-no. I have a 12 year old deck around an above ground pool. The current decking materials are 2x6. I am replacing the deck around the pool with deck boards. It's a big project. 33 foot round pool. I also have a deck abutting up to the circular deck sitting about 6 in below the circular deck. These boards also need replacing. This deck area is also huge. Also with 2x6 boards that have seen better days with full sun and all the years of snow, etc. So is it possible to place marine grade plywood over the existing deck boards. To not only speed things up, but also for smoother flooring. Its about four feet suspended off the ground.
Thanks for any input.

Post a picture of what your dealing with.
Just can not imagine how doing it that way being a good idea for several reasons.
Marine plywood is very expensive.
Any plywood laying flat is going to have issues.
All the exposed screw heads will look like poop.
Even if you stained it, once it gets wet it will be as slippery as whale snot.
