Ipe front porch with waterproofing issue

Hi gang,

I am looking to replace my current front porch with a more durable wood. The existing painted pine or possibly cedar treads are rotting out. Uncovered front porch that gets the brunt of our weather. The landing has about a 1/8" pf slope forward but water gets trapped underneath the sandwich of tread board, tar paper and then plywood. I was thinking of replacing the plywood on the landing with similar but treated wood and then doing a TPO or EPDM underlayer, then doing a floating deck of ipe on top. The back portion of the landing is inside the footprint of the house and needs water proofing of some kind.
As an alternative, I have also considered removing the plywood layer and applying the ipe directly to the joists work, with a small portion of TPO/EPMD to cover the interior back part. However this would allow rainwater closer to my foundation if I allow it to drip through the treads. I could cut a small access/screen in the side of the box of the landing to add some ventilation to the underside.
I would also want to replace the stair tread with matching ipe. Current risers are 30" apart. one on each side and one in the middle. How many new risers would I need to adequately span for 1"x 4"x 3/4" ipe?

thanks in advance,

What's directly below the inset portion of your house? Exposed decking over plywood is a recipe for short decking life.

Crawl space, storage area. Exposed framing. Still dry though.

Depends how much deflection you are willing to tolerate, but generally 16".

Composite decking would be a good choice, never rot!
