Driveway improvement suggestions needed!

i have a steep short driveway that is paved, then the pavement stops and widens to a dirt/gravel parking are about 3-4 cars wide which is usually a swampy mess. I was thinking about somehow digging this up and putting in pavers or bricks or concrete after raising it above where the water levels of the puddles is, and the putting in drainage. What is the best way to plow up the surface? Tool suggestions would be helpful. Also, what is the best way to install drainage, and id Appreciate suggestions on what to use for the surface. Thanks!

A lot depends on what you want to spend and how you want to use the area! A heavy layer of crushed stone is one option. Concrete is another as is blacktop. Also as Marq suggested, you may need to install possible drainage depending where the water is coming from.

Ya, the first thing you need to do is identify how the water is getting there and how to direct it to somewhere else.
A bobcat would likely work well for excavating although a scraper blade on a tractor would also work.
