How to attach cat shelter to deck without damage?

I am wanting to buy a couple cheapo cat shelters for the neighborhood throwaways. How can I attach this cat shelter to the patio deck without risking my damage deposit?

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Outdoor-C...gs/3934796361?

According to the reviews, it is so lightweight any wind will carry it off, and the wind here is furious!

Zip ties? Can't see your deck.

There really isn't any attachment shown on that cat house. You could run some para cord or other small rope through the gap between floor boards and lightly across the top of the shelter to help keep it from being blown away in wind. Personally, I'd build or buy a rigid structure that could be attached or more easily weighted down. Then put your soft enclosure inside for warmth and coziness.

Interesting. What about a 1/2" or thicker particle-board, say about 24x24", and drill the floor of the shelter to it? That stuff is fairly heavy...don't see even the wind around here moving it. Guess I'd have to find some way to waterproof the board?

Particle board and OSB products should NOT be used outside. They do not stand up to water well. But that's a good idea if you use a piece of outdoor rated plywood or solid wood planks that can withstand water better.

Would this work?

I'd have to go look at it to make sure it's heavy enough, but seems like it would do the job.

That is not intended for outside. But, it could work for a while.
