kitchen renovation

I am wanting to take down a wall and create an island with a stove instead, but we have a single story concrete block home with a slab foundation. Will all the electrical be routed through the roof, making this wall removal all but impossible?

Welcome to the forums! Posting pictures of your proposed project area will help us to see what you are seeing. It is difficult for us to give advice with such little information. The main thing you need to worry about is bearing load of the wall in question. Nothing is impossible, Some things will take more than a day. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

How old is your house? Most of the modern day block houses in fla use roof trusses, can you get in the attic to verify? Would a fake column to house the electric look ok with your proposed plan?

Yes, the electric is almost for certain coming down from the attic into the top of the wall.

When adding an island, the usual way to run the electric is down from the attic into another wall and then over to the island through conduit in the slab.
You would have to cut a slot in the concrete.
