Removing a large bathroom mirror
We'll be replacing the builder-grade mirror in our bathroom soon and need to remove an old mirror. It's roughly 4'x4' and is held in place by 4 metal "clasps". It can be slid out some, but I don't know if we should take it out whole.
Would it be best to cut it with a glass cutter? With the way the clasps are spaced, I believe each section would stay in place on its own until slid out.
Any thoughts on how to safely get this mirror out?
Thanks,
Andy

Exactly. 4x4 is not that big of a deal. If you are worried about it, rent some glass suction cups and wear cutless gloves and safety glasses... but don't try cutting the glass. The mirrors will lift up and the the bottom will come out.

Agreed. This mirror will not be that heavy, use a helper.
The most important thing to me, and the first thing I check for is if the mirror will release from the wall.
You won't be prying the mirror and that's much safer.

If everyone says don't cut, then I won't cut
I guess as long as the "spring action" of the clips is still good, it shouldn't be too bad.
Where's the best place to buy "cutless gloves"?
Where can I rent the suction cups?
Thanks for the feedback.

Almost any big box store will have a wide selection of gloves. You would have to call rental places to see if they have cups... if not ask at a commercial glass store if they would be willing to let you rent one or two.
