Type of mortar?
What type of mortar would I need to install a 38" neo-angle shower pan?
Would the premixed stuff work well or should I go with the bagged material?

If you are talking about what to undermine it with, just mix up thinset and apply it in dollops. It will spread out and make an excellent sub base. Premixed anything is really never as good as the stuff you mix yourself. Face it, it has had water in it for months sitting on the shelf. It cures chemically, so why hasn't it hardened yet?

Guys, I bought a bag of the TEC Porcelein mortar to use at the recommendation of the Lowe's worker but don't think this is correct.
Can someone please recommend the exact type of mix I need to buy and use to set this shower base on a concrete slab in the basement? I asked three different workers at Lowe's and nobody really knew.
