Bathroom diy remodel alone

Hello
I am thinking about remodeling the old bathroom by myself in the basement. I do not have set date to finish as we do not currently use the bathroom. The remodel is to mainly increase resale value.

Is this a project I can do alone without anyone helping? (Lifting tub for disposal..etc)

Anyone have a good link/reference on bathroom diy project wiki or write up ?

Thanks

Only you can determine your lifting ability, and a porcelain tub will be a bear. Most of the remodel can be done with only one person. If you were to post pictures of your proposed area, maybe we can offer more help. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

Everything obviously depends on your skills, tools available, how much you want to accomplish. We'll help you with advice but you'll be the one doing all the work.

Disposing of a tub isn't too difficult if you have no plans for it. Fiberglass tubs can be cut up and steel/cast iron tubs can be busted up.

The most important part of any remodel, including a bathroom, is planning and budget. Spend the time to do that correctly and the actual work will go a lot smoother.
