Sequence for Bathrrom Teardown and rebuild
Hi everyone,
I'm going to start tearing down and rebuilding a bathroom, and I have an idea for what the best sequence for doing everything would be, but I wanted to run it by everyone one here. Everything is coming out except for the ceiling and the subfloors.
1. Tear out everything
a. Remove drywall
b. Remove sink and toilet
c. Remove tub
d. Remove linoleum.
2. Put in new drywall, accounting for dimensions of new shower.
3. Texture and paint
4. Plumb in new shower fixtures
5. New shower (I need to research this. I want to use tile for the walls, but a kit for the floor and the glass door.
6. New sink
7. Linoleum.
8. Baseboards and other wall trim
8. New toilet
9. Other finish work - light fixtures, mirror, shelves, etc.
Any feedback or thought would be appreciated.

I think your order is off. Sequence should be:
1: Tear out everything
3: Rework any Electrical required (new lights, outlets, bath fan)
4: Install what is required for new shower/tub walls and base (backer board, ditra)
5: Inspections for any electrical and/or plumbing
6: Install new drywall
7: Finish walls (tape), sand, texture, prime, paint.
8: Tile, grout
9: flooring
10: Baseboards and other Millwork
11: Install new plumbing fixtures
12: Install new electrical
13: Other finish work

Thanks everyone. I'll follow that sequence mostly - I may take some of the walls before the fixtures. We do have another functioning bathroom, so we don't need to worry about that.
I'm on the fence about whether to tile the shower, or to just purchase a pre-fab shower and install that.
