Tile edge in standup shower

So my contractor has caused us a bunch of problems with our bathroom.

After he finishinged tiling/grouting our shower, we realized that the tile edge is 1/2" thick near the floor but over closer to 1" at the top (images attached). The increase is relatively consistent from top to bottom, but because it's gradual it's not that noticeable.




Initially he had put a 1/2" metal edge as trip, but as you'd expect near the top he had a huge gap which he'd just filled up with caulk. I tore it off which is why you don't see it here.

I really don't want to have to retile the wall. Does anyone have any ideas on how to trim something like this?

Most likely due to an out of alignment stud behind the tile which results in a bowed wall. The large format tile can not bend so it sticks proud of the wall as a result. Check with the tile people and see if there is a bull nose matching tile that can be run up the edge in place of your metal trim that can be blended into the existing situation. If your wall tile was in fact floor tile used on a wall, then a bullnose option may not be available.
