Need space planning help

I'm planning on doing my own kitchen remodel (complete tear out), but I'm hoping to find an interior designer who can take my room dimensions, look at the space with "fresh eyes" and help me determine if there's a better use of space and position with appliances, cabinetry and counter space.

I've inquired with a couple of local interior designers but they're asking upwards of $2,000, which seems way high for what I'm asking.

I just got done engaging Havenly.com, but realized after completing the profile that they're just interior "decorators", which is not what I need. I would love to hear if there are other alternatives out there.

Usually any place that sells cabinets will provide you with drawings of the cabinet layout. There are programs such as 20 20 that make changing the layout rather easy.
Cabinets are built in 3" increments and that should allow any wall to be filled using standard cabinets and fillers.
The design shouldn't be a problem. Moving plumbing and electric will increase the budget substantially.

Places like Home Depot and Lowes have cabinet departments with free planning help.
