removing glass tile and installing new

I have to remove the top row of glass tiles (has been cut to accomodate old microwave) and install new tiles all the way up. What is the best way to remove the top row without damaging the tiles under it?
Also, will the new tile grout adhere to the painted drywall? Thanks

Chip one off with a putty knife and hammer. Then chip the others off to the left and right and avoid striking downward. Put plenty of drop cloths down to catch the pieces.

The project went well. Hardest part was chipping off the old row of tiles and finding tiles to match the bottom. I went to 5 different stores until I found a tile that was relatively close in colour to the old ones.
