How do I finish this area of shower surround?

I recently had a new shower surround put in and I don't know how to finish this section. The flange for the shower goes right up to the outside corner of the wall so I don't have anyway to put drywall over it. I attached a pic to show what I'm talking about..

I've searched and I can't find any information on how to finish this. Recommendations are appreciated!

Is that the wall stud that it is attached to?

Your drywall should be on top of that stud if Im seeing it correctly in the picture which would be flush with your pre hung door jamb!

I have the same question as Marq. If it's that close to the shower, you may want to tile that strip. That will "waterproof" it.

Thank you for the reply. Yes. the shower surround goes to the end of the stud. It is kind of hard to see the in the picture, but the shower surround is not flush with door jamb. It's offset about 2 1/2 inches in (which is the wood part you see). The drywall you see there is my basic DIY skills at work. I started to put up drywall to finish if off (it's not screwed in yet), but then realized I have nothing to attached the drywall to where the end of the shower is since it butts up to the end of the stud..

I know drywall usually goes on top of the flange but I don't have anything to attach the drywall to since it is at the end of the stud. Should I maybe finish the drywall on the section where the stud is and glue a piece of PVC outside corner mold to the flange so that it doesn't look ugly and unfinished? Any suggestions for finishing this corner are greatly appreciated!

A couple small diagrams would help.
One from the front showing the dimensions and one from the side also showing the directions.
Also a picture from further back so folks can see how the door jamb and top of the surround look.
Or is this a surround with a top cap?

Looks like the whole thing should have been moved 5/8" to the left so that the flange was on the framing behind the drywall, not on a shim. The opposite wall could have been shimmed out as needed.

Now if you want drywall over the flange you would need to double rock that entire wall. Then add an extension jamb to the door jamb before you case it.
