Plastic backsplash material...
Very simple question I hope. I have seen thin (1/16" or less) plastic panels used as backsplash in apartment/motel kitchens and bathrooms. The material is glossy, and the ones I have seen are colored (white, beige, etc). What is this stuff called/where do I get it? Thanks!

I don't know if you are referring to FRP or just a sheet of laminate. FRP is most often used in gas station bathrooms, places where it gets wet often.

FRP is the most commonly used material. Most versions have a pebbled, glossy finish on one side and a mat, smooth finish on the other.
Thinner "plastic" sheets do exist but I've never seen them sold in a big box store. You may have to find a mobile home or RV supplier if you want the really thin stuff. Or, you can buy a cheap shower surround and cut what you need from the wall panels.
