Closet door with shelves inside
Replacing my 30" RH closet door (one of many doors). The door opens into the hallway, and it looks like they installed the door before they installed the closet shelves... the shelves go right up to the inside casing. Ripping out the old door was not an issue, but now my dilemma... i can reach inside the main frame to shim it, but there isn't room to squeeze the inside frame/casing into the closet because of the shelves. They are pine, stained, nailed in... just a royal pain if I have to remove them. Would it be OK just to remove the inside casing and tack in the inside frame and leave the casing off?

here's a pic of the frame with the door attached... you can see I only have about 1/2" between the shelves and the wall.
