Barn style closet door floor guide/track
I have four closets with wide, heavy barn style doors that don't have anything on the floor to guide them. Every use of the door involves some heavy swinging. I would like to install something that makes the door easier to slide and prevents it from swinging. The room has plush carpet. I am unconvinced that the floor guide from Home Depot that is 7/8" tall will help because it seems too flimsy
Do you guys have other suggestions ? Would love to hear from you. Pics coming soon

Not sure what guide you saw at Home Depot but (IMO) what you want is the kind that slips INSIDE a slot cut in the bottom of the door--totally unseen. Look closely at the barn door kits they sell and you'll notice the slot in the bottom rail.
I don't think HD sells the guide separately in the store (yet) but it should be available online.
The only tools I would trust to cut the slot in a door that wasn't built with one is a slot cutter in a router or adjust a biscuit joiner to the center of the bottom rail and slide it across.
