Advice on sliding door floor plate

I bought some sliding glass doors for a closet remodel that I'm doing. Unlike some sliding doors, these doors have no long floor plate guide. Just a little guide piece shown in the picture below. When I'm done I will be installing carpeting with padding below, so about 1 inch higher will eventually be "floor level". What would you recommend that I do for a long narrow "floor plate"? Just buy some high quality wood, stain it and anchor it to the concrete floor, then screw on the little guide piece?

Yes, make it about 1/4 larger on all 4 sides. Predrill the holes so you don't split it. And put some plastic anchors in the concrete so you can use the screws it came with.

And just to let you know, that's about the gaudiest plate they sell. There are some with more subdued brass like finishes and even all plastic that might look a bit better. Cheap at any big box store and probably most hardware stores.

I've seen cheaper couldn't say how many houses I've painted where the guide was completely plastic. IMO the wood doesn't need to be anything special. I generally paint or stain them depending on the trim ..... or my mood
