Storm door
I have to replace a rear entrance storm door on a store. The entrance door is a standard height, 30 inches wide. The patio slopes upwards making the height of the storm door 2 inches less, 76 inches. I presume that the owner can buy a standard height storm door & that there will be enough room in the sweep to compensate for the 2 inches. Is that correct?

The sweep is for expanding the door. It won't do anything if the opening height is less than the minimum required by the door. Wood core storm doors can be cut down in length, no problem. Most other's no, because the bottom extrusion can't be modified.

You can custom order storm doors to any height you want. You will obviously pay more for this service. I wouldn't cut the bottom of a wood core door as they tend to have water swelling issues even without cutting and exposing the wood.
For people who modify the opening for a sliding door to add say french doors, the Rough In for a slider is lower than a traditional door. Possible to find ready made storm doors that are already cut down an inch or two. Did one for a customer about 10 years ago.

2" less than standard height isn't 76". Standard height of a storm door is 80-81".
If you do cut the door down, you need to goop up the cut edge with a sealant, like Geocel watershield.

You might want to look at a moblie home supply store. I don't remember the standard height for those, but they are quite a bit shorter than standard doors.

That was a while ago Mark. All depends on the type of door though. Custom height oversize low end wood core is probably about that much now. Custom all glass door...more like $400 or more. Width is a whole 'nother story.
But he needs undersize, wood core= cut it and seal the end as X and I said. Width is more of a pain, but even those, wood core can be cut. Not so with a full view glass door of course.
