Replace storm door

I have an old storm door that leads to my back patio, it was a cheap one that was on when I bought the house. I'm looking to replace it. I've never done it before so I wanted to check my measurements to make sure I buy the right door. I measured the trim and got 31 1/2"W x 81 1/2"H.

I also measured the door (not the storm door) and that was 31 1/2"W x 80"H.

The pre-existing storm door is pre hung in its own little frame of sorts, its a EMCO 75 series....junk.

I'm just trying to figure out which size door to buy...I'm thinking a 32x80, would that be correct?

Thanks!

Yes, you will likely need to skilsaw up one side of your trim to widen it a hair. You want to make that cut on the hinge side and make sure its a plumb cut. You will want the width that the storm door sits in to be 31 3/4... assuming both sides will be plumb and parallel. If your current storm door fits, odds are another 32" storm door will fit too. Height is within specs.
