Installing entry door on porch

there is an old porch someone made into a mud room. Anyway I'm finishing theirs project insulating and making the mudroom part of the house.

Before the mudroom room had a storm door then another door to enter the house

anyway I'm good with everything except installing the new entry door onto the porch since there's holes from decking. Should I lay foam or metal under the threshold ?

Post a picture so we can see what your seeing.
I've just seen far to many of these "conversions" done by DIY's done wrong.

no problem. kind of before picture..in the opening there was a diy door
now ive removed the door and thought hey itd be cool to have this all open and actually use the mudroom
last 2 pics are where the storm door currently is. you can see the decking. in the mudroom i have hardie backer and tile down. i dont want much of a step up from the threshold of the door and i also dont want the door getting rotted or moldy in the future

the storm door is being removed completely and a real entry door is going there. the current opening is too small so i will have to re frame

dont worry about framing i will be building a proper header above the opening and above the entry door. got lots of electrical to move yippee

will be fully insulating and putting a hvac vent
