Door alignment tricks
Couple of issues with a door in our house. I know there’s a few tricks (bending pins, shins behind hinges) to fix, but I always forget them.
Problems:
1. Latch doesn’t fit into the strike plate. It’s aligned but you REALLY need to push on the door for the latch to Engage.
2. The bottom of the door is hitting the door door stop on both sides
3. The door swings open on its own to about half open.
When you try and close the door, it feels like something is resisting you and pushing back.
Thanks

Can't do much about the door swinging open... that means the wall on the hinge side is not plumb. You could try taking the top hinge pin out, give it a gentle whack to bend it slightly (and I mean slightly... no more than 1/8") then put it back in. That often provides enough resistance to stop it from swinging on its own.
As for the other problems, the latch and the binding, pop off the door stop on both the latch side and hinge side. Then close the door. Then reinstall the door stop, and space the door stop away from the door with a putty knife or anything that is about 1/16" thick, so that the stop is not touching the door when it is latched. It needs just a little wiggle room.
