A contractor replaced the sliding patio glass door at my house couple of years ago. Now couple of plastic parts have crumbled and i am unable to find a replacement for them - as i don't know what they are called...
I am enclosing couple of pictures and will appreciate if someone could tell me what they are called and where i can buy them from?
Those are vinyl rail endcaps and they are proprietary parts, which means they are unique to the brand and model of door... only available from the manufacturer. And most of those types of parts are not available as replacement parts. I doubt you will locate them.
This can be easily 3D printed.
Go to a 3D forum and ask if someone there would be willing to make it.
You will need to have exact dimensions. (Or provide the old unit or what's left of it as a template.)
If you want, I can take a crack at it. Do you still have the old unit? If so, take several pictures of it from different angles and the flip side.

Situation: I run a dog rescue and always have a ton of dogs running around. I am currently fixing up my Mother-in-law suite into a dog room (kennels, feeding stations, dog beds, storage, etc.). The dog room opens up right off the living room and right now we use a baby gate across the doorway to keep dogs from going in or out of the room as needed, or we shut the bedroom door if we also want to black vision and sound. Not a great solution, but it mostly works as a short term fix.
Idea; Remove the door completely and install a security door (likely just metal bars without screen or glass) in its place. To hide the security door from the living room, and for instances where we want to block vision and/or sound, install a sliding barn style door which
Problem/Questions:
1. Most security doors I've found are wider than most interior doors (e.g. 36" vs. 32"). A wider door would actually be nice, so is there any reason I cannot just move/replace the the studs over as needed (~4") and replace the header studs with longer ones?
2. Most security doors are flush mounted and considerably thinner than a doorway. Any suggestions on an recessed/mid mount and how I would go about trimming it to look nice? My initial impression is to just use MDF (~4 1/2" x 3/4"?) MDF run around the opening and then use trim on the outside (like a normal door hanger) and quarter rounds next to the security door, but I am not sure that is the smartest way to go.
3. Any other suggestions or thoughts you might want to share before I start this endeavor?
Please note, this door is not going to be for "security" in any real since. Rather, it is just a way to keep dogs in/out of a room while letting air through.Read More
I’m trying to replace the weatherstrip but it’s literally pulling away from the Kerf leaving the material in the kerf. I tried to pull it out with a small flat head and using needle nose plyees but it’s in tight as if they installed The frame around the weatherstripping
