Window Leak- Sealing Advice Needed

Discovered a significant window leak (more pouring than dripping) from a warped slider casing on the floor above, likely due to water damage from a harsh winter a few years back. Removed the damaged MDF casing around the window; planning a full repair in the spring (siding, slider, etc.). Installed gutters to divert water but still facing a notable leak. Considering sealing around the window with silicone or gap filler first, but mindful of unintended consequences (water has to go somewhere). It's a rental, and we have people coming in, so I need a temporary solution until proper repair is possible. Looking for a bit of advice. See attached photos.

That's likely from an ice dam on the roof in the winter, then as water melts above it gets under the shingles and leaks down the wall. Not really anything to do with the window. Ice and water shield under the shingles is the way to prevent that.

It's definitely from an ice damn. Roof was just replaced, has flashing, etc. I think the problem is the slider that has warped and lifted slighly from water damage. So it's getting in at the base and into the wall.
