Peculiar pleat on valance

I had a valance made, asking for one 6" pleat on either side. I wanted the pleats shaped according to the orange picture, but I got these peculiar horticultural-looking constructions. What are these? Can this possibly be re-done according to the picture? Will be very grateful for information and suggestions.

The pic of the orange valance is a bit small, so hard to see.
I'm assuming you mean the horn or bell, what you're calling a pleat? The rounded part at the end? From what I can tell tho, it looks the same or similar, but perhaps a bit more flattened out.
Your's can be made more flattened also, with the use of a tag gun or even some hand tacking. They would probably have to be taken apart and moved inward a little, or else the end of it would be sticking out beyond the valance.

Peculiar pleat on valance

Here is the pleat being held flat. To me it seems like too much fabric was cut out and it came out too round. Grateful for any advice, explanations, suggestions. Many thanks.

Does look a bit large and rounded. That should be a separate piece that was attached so they should be able to remove it, rework it smaller and reattach.
