Garage Ventilation Options (Solar Powered?)
After searching around the internet for a while, I am not seeing too many options for garage ventilation. I am hoping some of you on this forum will have some guidance on the matter!
1. I have a two -car (finished) garage in a two-story house - so no direct attic access.
2. The garage has two pre-existing 4" x 10" passive vents located on an exterior wall (one near the floor and one near the ceiling of the garage).
3. My thought process is to convert the existing vent (near the ceiling) into a solar-powered exhaust port.
4. My problem is that I am not finding any fan (wall or gable) that would fit. Nor am I finding any adapter hardware (e.g. like a hood range reducer).
5. So I am wondering what others on this forum might do! E.g. Should I use the existing 4" x 10" vent and enlarge it (make it 10" x 10") in order to fit a proper 10" exhaust fan? (I had been hoping to avoid cutting apart an exterior wall (and the stucco)....
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

It would certainly help us to help you if we could see what you see. Can you post a picture of the vents from the inside and outside of the garage? Not closeups, we know what they look like, just need to see how they tie in with your overhang and interior wall. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

Good point. Photos Below!
Also, one more reason I am looking at this issue - I just installed solar on the roof - and the inverter is in the garage. So that (not yet painted) pipe is the "DC" run from the roof, going across the wall/ceiling corner of the garage, and over to the inverter. Everything I can do to keep the garage temperature low(er) will prolong the inverter life...
