The wife and I bought a new washer and dryer. Today the delivery guys came and refused to hook up the dryer because they said I didn't have metal ducting to hook it up to.
The house was built in 1989 and still has the original white plastic dryer hose. Problem is the hose is built into a finished wall and above a finished ceiling. I can see part of the hose as it passes through a utility room on the side of the house and goes outside. Is there any chance I can pull a replacement hose through with the old plastic hose? Do I have any other options?

Post a picture.
You say the plastic goes through the wall to the outside? If so, if it's a straight run, pull out the plastic, insert metal vent through he wall and reconnect dryer with metal flex hose. Seal around the aluminum ducting on the inside and outside.
Note: Usually on the outside is a vent which the ducting should connect to. The aluminum vent would connect to this.
