GFCI for bathroom exhaust fan

I'm looking to buy a combo fan/light to replaced a recessed can light above our shower stall. In the instructions, it says the following:

" Acceptable for use over a tub or shower when connected to a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) - protected branch circuit."

Our house was built in 2001. The receptacles in this bathroom are GFCI outlets, but the light switches or not. Can I have an electrician install a GFCI circuit breaker to be in "compliance" with what they recommend?

Thanks,

Andy

Yes you can use a breaker as long as the receptical isn't on the same circuit.
