How to Repair Foundation Vent

I have many foundation vents that need to be repaired due to holes or being covered in stucco overspray. They protrude from the foundation via clay blocks.

I'm not looking for a permanent or super-involved solution since we'll eventually be redoing all of our stucco in the coming year or so.

What is the recommended course of action here? Thanks!

Boy, that really depends on your skill level and the tools you have. If you just want something sorta temporary I would cut out the screen area. Then cut new hardware cloth to the size of the openings leaving an extra inch all around the edges. Make 1" cuts in the corners so you can fold the edges of the screen back. Then shove it into the opening. For a better look shove it in from the inside and if it has trouble staying in place a few dabs of caulk and stick it in place.

I wonder if it would be feasible to install an 8x16 soffit vent over it? after removing the old screen.
