is it bad to have 2 supplies directly across from each other on the main duct? Or should they be offset from each other. If offset what’s the general rule for spacing ?

Not an issue! Most likely the duct reduces in size after them to keep the static up.

How to Repair Foundation Vent

I have many foundation vents that need to be repaired due to holes or being covered in stucco overspray. They protrude from the foundation via clay blocks. I'm not looking for a permanent or super-involved solution since we'll eventually be redoing all of our stucco in the coming year or so. What is the recommended course of action here? Move air from cool basement up?

Am I wrong to think that a small fan that moves air up from my cooler basement (62) up to the main floor is not a good thing for summer? My home is only 1300 sqft. I've been looking for a fan, either 120v or 12v, that will move air up the middle of my house where I have a large floor grate installed. It's not an easy thing to find. Maybe I should just install a couple of 140mm computer fans? In my last house , I rigged two 12v computer fans that I would turn on that brought air into the lower floor wood stove room and push heat up to the main living area... it worked great. I guess I 'm just a believer in low cfm air movers to keep a circulated flow going in the home. I use a heat pump in the main area and have a gas Rinnai heater in the basement for winter supplemental use, helps reduce the heat pump demand. So, is air movement a good thing, or does the energy expended offset the cooling benefit?Read More
