Washer/dryer combo not draining
i have a General Electric Washer / Dryer Combo WSM2480TCAWW.
its the type with a dryer on top of the washing machine.
when i start a wash cycle it fills , the the inside starts spinning {forgot technical name} .i see the water pump spinning
when its time to drain it just stops, no engine whine or noise or movement P{ like the power has been cut off} i replaced the water pump and checked for blockage, the problem is still there.
the motor works for spinning but the motor does not even engage when its time to drain, its just one motor that goes clockwise and counter clockwise.
at this point im down to two options
either the washer timer is no good or the motor is no good.
how can i test the motor to see if its gone ?? or does the fact that it works during spinning rules it out ??
any other part i should look at ??

Sounds like a bad lid switch. here is a diagram of your washer
GE WASHER-DRYER LAUNDRY SYSTEM Parts | Model WSM2480TCAWW | Sears PartsDirect
under top part # 72 is switch. Usually have to take top off to replace it. Jump the wires to switch to see if it is the problem. Don't jump the wire to ground.
