leaking supply line to ice maker

I found water leaking into my basement and followed it to the supply line to my refrigerator ice maker. It wasnt leaking from the connection to the fridge or at the connection to the main water line. I'm a little flummoxed. It was dripping at the spot where the supply line feeds from the kitchen to the basement. Does that tubing generally break down and need to be replaced?

Is it really the line it's self leaking or is it really an old saddle valve under the sink leaking and running down the line?

Absolutely - YES!

I have seen that poly line break down. If you have a split or a problem at one of the ends.... replace it. Don't even consider splicing it.

$10 replacement line fixed it. That was way too easy.

Glad you got it fixed. To re-ask Joe's question, it isn't connected to a saddle valve is it? A saddle valve will usually void the warranty on your icemaker.
