Bubble in faceplate of washing machine (Whirlpool Duet Sport ht

Hi,

Someone I know has a Whirlpool Duet Sport ht washing machine that is about 8 years old.

He noticed that the faceplate was "bubbling"... This does not look like an easily replaceable part. The problem is mostly cosmetic... but it doesn't look good.

There is a small window next to the washer, and I suggested that the sun might be responsible, but according to him the sun doesn't shine directly through the window.

See pictures.

Any suggestions on the source of the problem? Solutions? Other people have experienced similar problems?

Thanks

That looks like the plastic film that comes when the appliance is new and with a sticker that says please remove.

I'd need the model number to look into front panel parts.

I'm not in front of the washer at the moment but I'm pretty sure it was the whole faceplate, including the buttons, that have bubbled up.

The model number: WFW8400TW00

Most likely a film over the front, Like Pete said. Usually a light blue tint but could be clear. May be stuck on tight after this long. Not a cheap part. Here is the part # W10131963 123$
Here is a break down of washer
