Oven bulb is unshielded?!
We got a new range a while back, and the oven bulb burned out after what feels like a short time. (We don't use the oven that much.)
Anyway, I was surprised that the oven bulb is unshielded! Just the bare bulb at the top of the oven, and it had a lot of gunk baked on.
Should I just replace it with another normal appliance bulb, or is there a better choice?
Thanks!

Yep, make sure it is an oven type bulb with low wattage. Often they are not shielded and for some reason operate for decades without incident. 40-Watt Incandescent A15 Clear Appliance Light Bulb-416768 - The Home Depot
