Samsung Refrigerator not getting cold enough
Hello,
I have a Samsung side by side refrigerator that is a little over 10 years old. A few weeks ago I noticed the refrigerator side was not cold enough. I took out the shelves and noticed a little bit of ice buildup under the plastic backing inside. I unplugged the refrigerator and let it sit overnight. The ice melted and when I turned it back it, it was cooling properly. 2 weeks later, it appears the refrigerator is warm again( around 50 degrees inside, front panel is set to 38 degrees). What could be the problem and is it an easy fix?
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.
Since you can see an ice buildup and manually defrosting it fixed the problem..... you most likely have a problem with the automatic defrost system.
Easy fox.... maybe.
Post the complete model number for the fridge.

Look into this too.... Samsung refrigerator class action lawsuit
You have an electronically controlled defrost section. You need to put it in diagnostic mode to determine what is not working correctly.
The following link is the tech sheet for your fridge. It can also be found behind the kick plate at the bottom of the fridge.

This diagnostic manual was great! The error code I received was R-Defrosting error, a problem with the defrost heater. I haven't had time to check resistance, but I hope this is an easy fix.
