GE Stackable Washer/Dryer - leaking and inconsistent spin cycle

Hi All,

My GE stackable washing machine (model GTUP240EM5WW) is leaking. I'm thinking it needs a tub seal replacement. The other weird thing is that it often gets stuck on the "wash" cycle, and won't progress to spin. However, sometimes if I pause and start several times, or set to "spin only", it will complete the spin cycle. Could the leak be causing the spin issue? Any thoughts on how to fix?

I moved post to it's own thread.
Your washer, dryer combo has many problems, Seal could be leaking also control board may be bad. Leak and seal problems are 2 separate problems. 2 Things you can do First is take panel off between washer and dryer. There will be a tech sheet there and will tell you how to get codes.
Next take front of washer off. Use a stiff putty knife, there are 2 clips between top and front near edge. Slide putty knife in and front will come out Look for leak if seal water will be dripping off bottom of tub or transmission.

Thanks! We have done the error codes and it said that everything was normal. We also took off the front panel, and it is leaking from the tub.

Been a couple of years since i worked on that machine. I remember it was a 2 man job for transmission and I think transmission needs to come out to replace seal. Here is a diagram of washer, look under motor and drive part 302, 304 is just seal.

Just found this seal can come out without taking transmission.
