Cleaning lint from inside of dryer
i am trying to help an elderly friend clean out the inside of a may tag electric dryer model MDE8057AYW as in remove lint from interior. No manual. How do I get inside to do this?

Welcome to the forums.
Not the easiest job on that dryer. Rather than posting step by step instructions... I left a link for replacing a motor. This video will show you how to get to the blower area for cleaning. Once the blower cover is removed... you'll be able to see and access the areas that need cleaning, You'll also need to vacuum the exit connection on the back of the dryer by removing the external duct work first.
Look for "repair video" link just under the motor picture.

Instead of cleaning lint in dryer I would spend my time cleaning out the vent tube to the outside, That fryer dose not have a history of a lot of lint build up inside. Had many apart and usually pretty clean. If there is a large build up it is caused by a resisted vent to outside. Most dryer problems start with a clogged vent.

Vent restriction
thanks for the response
this dryer is vented indoors!! I removed snd cleaned the vent tube but he has a net bag tied on the end of it to catch the lint!
there was quite a bit of lint under the lint catcher and I couldn't get to it all
i will watch the video!

It appears that the unit has one of those mesh bags attached to the vent line and is vented inside the house. This is an electric dryer. Not ideal to not be vented outside but at least no gas fumes.

Definitely vented indoors
the exit end of the vent tube is indoors and has a net over the end to catch escaping lint. I removed the attachment from the dryer and cleaned it out but it wasn't too bad

I was never a fan of venting a dryer indoors as it allows a lot of un-needed moisture and some dust inside the house. Definitely a no-no with a gas dryer. That lint bag should be cleaned fairly often.
