Washer: deep cleaning dispenser drawer housing
Looking for tips for cleaning these housings without removing and opening. I got most of it with brushes, wire, Qtips, rags, & long screwdriver. Wondering about spraying something back there. What if you stuff a rag down the discharge then spray a stream of ammonia or something then wipe with a rag and pull out the stuffer?

That is a weird photo, I know. It is looking into the drawer housing with the drawer removed. It is the rear interior wall, sides, ceiling, and floor. The ceiling is filled with holes where water is diverted into the different reservoirs. The rag is stuffing the hole in the rear left corner where the water drains into the wash tub carrying the detergent, softener, and bleach. Black goop remains in the various channels and corners.

Wow... I was thinking fridge when I first read your post.
I added washer to the title.
That's a dark wet and steamy area. The soap does leave a slime residue. I'm trying to think of what better to use to clean that. My forum partner may have a better way of cleaning it. He'll be by in the AM.

That area always gets to look like that. Hard place to reach also. Your hand should reach back there but no room to move it. I have used a rag in a stick to get back there. Other than looking nasty it does not effect anything. It never gets to clothes that I have found. Bigger problem I have found is a build up of old soap blocking tube to washer. Some people have never taken that drawer out.
