Question Dishwasher Storage

The installation company put my new never installed Dishwasher (in the original shipping carton) in my garage for 4 days upside down before installing it. The carton has a symbol on it showing it should be stored right side up. Could having the dishwasher stored upside down cause any problems with any of the parts of the dishwasher (like the motor & motor suspension)?

Doubtful. They say that because it's the sturdiest direction for it to sit during transport and in storage... on its feet.

Usually you will not have any problem as long as something heavy was not stacked on top of it. Dishwashers don't have motor suspended. It is just bolted on to the bottom of the dishwasher.

If the dishwasher was transported upside down with something stacked on top, it may experience some cosmetic damages.

Some water may spill out of dishwasher though. New dishwashers often has some water left in them from factory testing. Putting it upside down sometimes will spill some of this water out. It may get the motor or controller wet, but this usually is not a problem and will perfectly fine once the water dries out.

Yeah it's clearly not on its feet because you said it's upside down.

Translation: the sign says "this side up" because THAT is the sturdiest direction for it to sit during transport and in storage... on its feet...

Transporting it and storing it are two different things. The dishwasher will be fine.
