Hi all, I am attempting to clean out my dryer vent. I don't think it is clogged or anything, just behind on maintenance. Bought the house 4 years ago and haven't done it yet. I put a vacuum cleaner on the hose and it did not compress like there was a clog. I don't see what is obviously a dyer vent outside the house, on the roof, or anything. The only thing I see outside is a this vent on the outside of the chimney framing, but it is not the same diameter hose, and I feel no air when the dryer is on. There is no lint buildup on or around this. Sorry photo is sideways, not sure why it isn't rotating on its own. [attach]97003[/attach] The basement is all drywalled, and I hate it. I put a speaker on the hose at the dryer and could faintly hear it through this outside vent, so I suppose it is possible it is disconnected. One strange thing (please tell me if this is normal)... under the knockout for the fireplace, the inside floor joists are completely open. Under there, I cannot even see this flexible duct coming out or up from the basement, so I don't know how it is ran here. I have a Kitchenaid dishwasher KDTE104ESS2 It will sometimes just stop working during cycle... and eventually shuts off.. tried hard reset then tried diagnostic mode.. one time got a code of overflow switch... took it out.. checked it.. the switch is fine. then all of a sudden it started working fine. then a few days later back to not working. It fills fine.. then just sits there... then after an extended time it will start washing.. then drain.. then refill and just sit.. if you cancel out it will try to drain and keeps trying then suddenly it will drain.. drain hoses are clear and proper. sometimes it drains fine. now it runs through diagnostic mode and tests itself fine... but still acts like this. also hear some clicking in the door ( like relays ) while it sits sometimes. other times its silent. Any other ideas? think next I am taking the door off an looking at connections. I have checked connections underneath and they seem fine. any ideas ?
