Its either overheating or the control board has a problem. How old is it?

only a few years I think. I got it second hand like new from an old couple. I used the self cleaning once. Recently I tried it and it kept tripping to the off position.

I've noticed that some of the GE and Frigidaire units don't respond well to self cleaning.
The electronics are not insulated enough and overheat.

Well, I tried to unplug and let it cool and restart after an hour. This time it worked for about 15 minutes before tripping out of clean cycle. I noted only the bottom coil was yellowed up, the broiler coil wasn’t on. Later I tested the top coil and it does work.

Update

I finally got the new control relay board in and installed it. It gave me an F96 code. So I pulled the door switch, cleaned the contacts, and it goes into the clean cycle now.
The only thing is , now after about 90 minutes of the clean cycle, Im a bit concerned about the temperatures on top of the glass top where the pots and pans are used. I shot my FLIR and its reading 200F in some spots and my infrared gun showed 175F. Should it be getting this hot on the top of the stove. I haven't seen the bottom coil cut out at all so far. The top coil isn't on at all though. I dont want to end up burning down the house over a stove. I felt the power cord and its cool to the touch. I realize temps in this can reach 900F but the exterior of the cabinet concerns me.

I do not get a warm and fuzzy feeling when any oven is in self-clean..... gas or electric. They run the oven up hot enough to incinerate grease. That leaves the outside of the appliance case very hot and some ovens get so hot it burns the electronics.
