Maytag dryer control on button problem.

Our Maytag Epic frontload dryer has a problem.
The Control On button suddenly stopped working. So the machine can't operate at all.
There is power to the machine as the interior light comes on with the door opening.
How would I troubleshoot this problem?
Thanks for any suggestions!

YMED9700SQ0 is the full model number.

Have you tried unplugging the dryer for a minute and then plugging it back in ?
The first item I'd check is the door switch. One half is the light.... the other turns power on to the control board.

There is a tech sheet inside the control area of your machine. It's a mini service manual.
The link below is a copy of it.

Take the lower panel off behind the lint chute there is a thermal fuse.2 blue wires it should have continuity. be sure the dryer is unplugged before you do this.

Problem solved???

I tried the old unplug and replug trick (always works for my computer) but no luck.

I followed the instructions to put the machine in diagnostic mode. After the lights lit up like a Christmas tree, I played with different settings, but aside from constant buzzers going off, this didn't do much.

I then started the drier while in diagnostic mode and it ran for 5 minutes, then stopped.

I then took a break and when I returned, only the control on indicator was lit.

I powered up the dryer and it worked normally? I turned the machine off and on several times and the problem seems to be gone.

Anyways, thanks for the help and hopefully the problem doesn't come back!

Keep the tech sheet handy.

It sounds like the logic section was locked up. That is usually reset by unplugging the unit.
Good you got it going.
