Replace washing machine 'tub suspension'

Hi,

Our Maytag washing machine is about 7 years old. It is in need of 4 new suspension spring/rod assemblies. (The things that control the up/down motion of the tub).
Looks like the parts will run me about $25.
On a scale of 1-5 how hard is it to replace them AND would I need more than a couple screw drivers ? Anything to look out for ?

Google this and many videos are out there to show how it is done. Not hard but I have a very stiff hook I used to hold up rods.

Maytag washer LAT4916AAE motor hums, does not start

My Maytag LAT4916AAE fills with water, but does not agitate or spin, and the motor makes a loud humming noise. I removed both belts, and the pump pulley rotates freely. The brake pulley also turns freely both ways. The motor still just hums with the belts removed. I opened up the little switch box on the top of the motor and cleaned the contacts. After putting it back together, the motor still just hums. So, I'm about to order a new motor, but I thought it would be a good idea to post on this forum first. Any suggestions? Kenmore Elite freezer not working but the refrigerator works

Hi All, We have a 33" Kenmore Elite (model 73133). Over the past month or so, the freezer section started giving up (ice cream began softening and then melted). Now the freezer is cold, but not freezing - e.g. bread remains soft when stored inside. We turned off the fridge for 24+ hours to see if such a "reset" could work, but that made no difference. Will appreciate any suggestions if this can be fixed at all. TIA!Read More
