DW Float Switch O-ring/seal position

I just did a thorough cleaning of my GE Profile Quietflow 6 dishwasher and removed the float switch for cleaning. I unknowingly installed it incorrectly (wasn't screwed on tightly) and water began leaking on the floor. I realized my mistake and tightened it properly. Because the tub is stainless, the switch is not encased in a molded piece integral with the tub basin. Instead there is a 2" diameter plastic washer/flange that screws to the switch's outer shell. Anyhow, I expected there to be a seal or o-ring under the plastic washer but there was not. According to the parts diagram, an o-ring exists but I guess it is located on the underside of the basin? This seems backwards to me. Wouldn't you want the seal on the wet side? It isn't leaking as of now, but I want to be sure everything is assembled correctly.

#495 is the seal and #492 is the plastic washer.

Found a YouTube video showing replacement and the o-ring is on the bottom. Good to go.
